Status Quo

Una de las bandas de mayor éxito comercial en toda la historia del rock británico. Iniciados a finales de los años 60 en el beat y la psicodelia, Status Quo terminaron desembocando en un iterativo combo de boogie rock, con fibrosos ritmos que recuperaban los procederes clásicos del rock’n’roll y el blues-rock, conquistaban a la audiencia inglesa alcanzando ventas millonarias y se convertían en uno de los grandes iconos de la música de su país.
La banda tiene su génesis en un grupo de beat denominado The Scorpions, finalmente rebautizado en 1962 como The Spectres. Este grupo tenía como miembros principales al cantante y guitarrista Mike “Francis” Rossi (nacido el 29 de mayo de 1949 en Londres), el bajista Alan Lancaster (nacido el 7 de febrero de 1949 en Londres), el teclista Roy Lynes y el batería John Coghlan. Canned Heat

Canned Heat es una banda de blues-rock/boogie formada en Los Ángeles en 1965. La importancia de este grupo no sólo reside en su música basada en el blues, sino también en sus esfuerzos para reintroducir y revivir las carreras de algunos grandes bluesmen, así como sus habilidades para la improvisación.

El grupo lo lidereaban Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson -"Búho Ciego- (guitarra, armónica y voces) y Bob Hite ("The Bear" -El Oso-) (voces y armónica). Henry Vestine (alias "Sunflower" -Girasol-), ex miembro de Mothers of Invention, de Frank Zappa, se encargaba de la guitarra. Larry Taylor ("The Mole"-La Mole) (mejor conocido hasta entonces como el bajista de The Monkees), era su bajo de estudio hasta que acabó uniéndose al grupo por completo durante los setenta junto con el batería Frank Cook, posteriormente se incorporo definitivamente al grupo el baterista mexicano Adolfo "Fito" de la Parra. Canned Heat cogió su nombre de "Canned Heat Blues". Esta canción de Tommy Johnson, creada en 1928, habla de un alcohólico que ha empezado a beber desesperadamente Sterno.

Torben Enevoldsen - Heavy Persuasion

Torben Enevoldsen, Denmark's finest guitarist, has made an all instrumental masterpiece, Heavy Persuasion, featuring hard rock with progressive and neoclassical influences. Assisted by Flemming Hansen on bass and Mickey Hurricane on drums, the final production comprises ten hard rock/heavy/progressive instrumentals exclusively. After releasing his first CD, "Guitarisma", Enevoldsen continued to write music and perfect his guitar skills, then returned to the studio in May of 2000 to record the tracks comprising Heavy Persuasion. On Retraced, guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands) revisits some of the music that inspired him as a young guitarist. Teaming up with drummer Aynsley Dunbar, bassist Tim Bogert, and vocalist Chris Logan, Jake plays stellar versions of songs previously recorded by artists such as Free, Montrose, Grand Funk, Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, etc., each song brimming with high energy guitar work. Amazing, since Lee admitted not caring that much for cover tunes in general, and even more amazing since his guitar had been in the back of a Las Vegas closet for over a year.
